Supporting The Truht

A Muslim will abide by justice to the extent that he will tell the truth even if it is against him. He will act according to the truth, even if it is against his parents and relatives. A Muslim must not take sides, favor a certain party, be selfish; he must not display fanaticism, nationalism, tribalism or advocacy; he must be just, he must be just in every aspect! He will hold the scale of justice, he will be totally honest!

There is a hadith of our Prophet that I often mention. It states:

زُلْ مَعَ الْحَقِّ حَيْثُ زَالَ12

Zhul, zale-yezulu; “To go, to perish”.

Zhul mea’l-haqqu haysu zale. “Always stand by the truth, follow the truth!”

Support the truth wherever it may be! If the truth is with your acquaintances; then you stand by the truth. You stand by the truthful because you know they support the truth. But if the truth  is on the side of your enemy, then again you must be with the truthful! You cannot say "He is my enemy" and abandon the truth. You cannot remain on the side of falsehood  and say, “These are my friends.”

Allah commands us to support the truth, be with the truthful. That was also commanded by the Prophet. We must stand by the truth.

وَلَوۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَوِ ٱلۡوَٲلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ‌ۚ2

A Muslim will abide by justice to the extent that he will tell the truth even if it is against him. He will act according to the truth, even if it is against his parents and relatives.

A Muslim must not take sides, favor a certain party, be selfish; he must not display fanaticism, nationalism, tribalism or advocacy; he must be just, he must be just in every aspect! He will hold the scale of justice, he will be totally honest!

Everybody must side with the truth. There is no end to trivial worldly reckonings, there is no benefit from these, no continuation. Even if a little benefit is obtained, even if you enjoy this for a while; those who obtain something illegitimately  will certainly suffer in the long-term. He will not see any benefit in this world; he will be thrown into the hellfire in the Hereafter. His stomach will be filled with fire, and he will be subjected to terrible torment.
